Sometimes it seems like we forget we have a blog, but we haven’t! We just tend to post stuff in the forums more often these days leaving this page for really big news. So if you want to see everything that’s going on, come visit the forums. They are a lot of fun anyway!

Look at them stats!! It’s June 26, the last time I posted a static graphic of stats was February 25, so just 4 months ago if I’m counting right.
Since then, we have added 568 tag designs to the community (over 100 new ones per month!) and have gone from 6500 logging users to over 10,000! Not surprising since over 27,000 tags were logged in those 120 days! That’s 225 logs per day!
My math may be off by a little, but it all adds up to great growth for the Pathtags community.
The last blog entry before this announces the release of software version 3.2 but we actually did release 3.3 a few weeks back and we’re working busily on 3.4 which includes a lot of feature enhancements. 3.3 was mostly cleanup of some long outstanding usability problems and some work at enhancing site performance. 3.3 also added in experience points, which you get by completing trades, buying Pathtag, and just showing up! You get one experience point per day just for stopping by (or should… we’re still ironing out some kinks in the system).
3.4 adds a lot of neat features including the upcoming wishlist feature which will allow you to put a set of tags you want onto a wishlist and anyone with those tags can fulfill your wish! It will open the door to trading in the Pathtags community for even those persons who do not own their own starter kit and also allow community members to trade for older tags who may have owners who are not active any longer.
3.4 will also (probably) see the move to a new dedicated server for our website. With a growing user base and heavier demands on our shared hosting resources we’ve secured dedicated hosting space and plan to migrate there in the upcoming release. The end result should be better performance and stability.
Best to all ~ Happy Tagging!

Wow! 1000 Pathtags! Curious to know who it was? So was I! So I looked it up and… it was Rusty. Totally luck of the draw, we promise! Rusty submitted his order for his next Pathtag today and it just happened to be the 1000th design!

Or “what does that button do?”. This is a live trial of a site performance enhancement. It may bring the site down, but never fear – I will get it back quickly. But if you experience some bounce today, my apologies and hopefully the result will be a snappier experience on the web site.

Chinese New Year that is. You can learn more about Chinese New Year at Wikipedia. Of course for most of us, Chinese New Year does not come into play. However, it’s a very important holiday for the people who work with us overseas on Pathtags production.
The result is a slowdown in the creation of Blueprints. So many of us (myself included) have blueprints tied up in this holiday shutdown. Soon our friends at the factory will be returning to work and the backlog will be clearing up quickly. We consulted the factory and they indicated that the break would not impact our 4–6 week production targets for new kits. It might be realistically a few days over for some but we still expect speedy production at the factory as soon as they resume.
The largest impact is that for us repeat customers who are accustomed to the two day turnaround on blueprints we are looking more at 5–10 days in some cases. We expect the jam to break up soon so be on the lookout for those blueprint review emails.

Geowoodstock takes place in late May. We would suggest anyone interested in using Pathtags as signature items at the event place your order by April 5 to help ensure on time delivery. Remember that if your design needs any back and forth to get production art ready, it could delay the start of production and put your on time delivery at risk. We would suggest placing orders as far ahead of time as you feel comfortable to ensure you do not miss out on having your tags ready for the big event!
We are checking into whether the use of the name of Geowoodstock will be permitted on Pathtags created for personal use and will post that information here when available.

Hello all, it’s a brand new year and we’d like to welcome all the new Pathtag owners that were surprised with gifts of tags over the holiday season!
We’ve been clicking away with some site updates from time to time, the best place to keep up with site improvements is in the forums. Look for a pinned thread in the general discussions area.
We’re looking forward to continuing serving you throughout the new year and beyond!
